My Story

After years of advocating for my son’s health, the medical system only responded when he attempted to take his life. We spent six months in residential treatment, paid $250,000 out of pocket, and returned home with one piece of advice: Don’t ask if he’s okay—it might make him think he’s not. Oh, and he knows how to call 911. That wasn’t support. That was survival mode. I didn’t want a crisis protocol. I wanted early warning. I wanted to know when something was off before it became an emergency. I wanted a system that helped me stay connected, no matter how far apart we were. That’s why I built Lowkey—so no one has to sit in that awful uncertainty again, wondering if their loved one is slipping and not knowing how—or when—to step in. — Jennifer Cunningham, Founder & CEO

Meet Jennifer - CEO, Mom, and Reluctant Tech Founder

Jennifer didn’t plan to start a tech company—she was trying to survive motherhood, decode the mysterious behavior of junior high students, and keep her kids (and sanity) mostly intact. But after navigating a mental health crisis with her son—and later, her own—she realized something crucial: there had to be a better way. So she built it.
